Caregiver Coaching, Training, & Agency Consultation

Caring for someone with cognitive impairments, physical limitations, or behavioral and mental health concerns can be deeply challenging. It’s not unusual to feel overwhelmed, uncertain, or in need of guidance and new skills.  Working with Cape Cod Caregiver Coach, you will gain expert guidance, curated resources, and personalized tools to also help you prioritize self-care while easing the pressures of caregiving. 

Remember - You are NOT alone!  My role is to walk beside you—step by step—throughout your caregiving journey. Together, we will uncover needs and bridge the gaps for both you and your loved one. 

Our sessions may involve:

· Preliminary cognitive assessment screening (Certified MoCA Administrator)

· Strategies for memory improvement

· Building healthier habits to minimize progression of cognitive decline

· Strengthening caregiving and improving communication skills

· Suggestions for home safety, modifications and equipment

· Discuss legal and financial needs for long-term care and future planning

· Advanced directives & assigning proxies

· Home care & hospice care coordination

· Possible senior living or memory care move 

· Managing nutrition, medication and transportation needs

· Referrals to appropriate community resources as needed

· Social engagement activity opportunities

· Practical tools to reduce stress and minimize overwhelm, sadness and/or anxiety related to caregiver burnout and compassion fatigue.

I offer a wide range of trainings for staff development, in-services, and skill building seminars to improve professional knowledge, strengthen caregiving skills, improve performance, and enhance connections with residents, their families, and co-workers alike.  

As a Certified Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care Trainer, I teach the 7-hour Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care (ADDC) Seminar.  This is required as a pathway (for NCCDP approved professionals) to become Certified Dementia Practitioners (CDP) or pursue the "essentiALZ" certification via the Alzheimer's Association. 

Areas of expertise are in mild cognitive impairment through the stages of dementia, home care, hospice and end of life care, customer service, stress management and personal & professional skills and growth.
